Senior Research Specialist I

Elena was born, grew up and got educated in Russia (former USSR). She obtained her Medical Doctor degree at Ivanovo State Academy and worked as an Ophthalmologist for a few years. She came to the United States of America in 1998 and started working in Genetic Ophthalmology Research. Elena was looking for Mutations in Human DNA samples at Kellogg Eye Center in University of Michigan, later she learned RNA and Epigenetics at University of Massachusetts and was a key member to start the Gene Therapy clinical trial in Ophthalmology. At Dr.Brangwynne’s lab she is looking for an opportunity to support all the studies as lab manager. Outside of the lab Elena enjoys traveling, growing flowers, reading, taking care of her dog and cat. Elena is married, has an adult daughter who works as a teacher at Cambridge, MA.
