Mack grew up in southern New Jersey and earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland-College Park. During his time there, he investigated cell-penetrating peptides as a means of drug delivery in the lab of Dr. Amy Karlsson. Now, as a PhD student, Mack is interested in designing controllable clustering systems in vivo to perturb cellular processes. He is co-advised by Dr. Jose Avalos. Outside of lab, he is an avid board game enthusiast. He has also been swept into the growing craft brewing scene and has experimented with some beer-brewing at home; samplings so far have included an Irish red ale, a hibiscus gruit, and a saison. Mack will also try to get outside for the occasional jog, hike, or game of Ultimate Frisbee.
