Yi-Che grew up in Taiwan. Before moving to the U.S. for his graduate studies, he studied at National Taiwan University and worked on protein engineering at Academia Sinica. He’s interested in nuclear organization as well as synthetic biology. By building tools to make synthetic nuclear bodies, he aims at understanding how such structures affect the 3D architecture of the nucleus and gene regulation. Outside of the lab, Yi-Che spends a decent amount of time in his kitchen cooking, brewing coffee, and soon roasting his own beans. He can be found occasionally walking around NYC on his mission to find out best coffee shops in the city.
