Hailey Tanner

Hailey is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering interested in the pathological aggregation of proteins. A loyal New Jersey native, she grew up in Freehold, NJ and graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a B.E. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Biochemical Engineering. At Stevens, she conducted polymer research surrounding magnetic grafted nanoparticles and thermal stiffening in Pinar Akcora’s lab and later went on to research the biomarkers and pathologies of neurodegenerative diseases in the Weickenmeier Lab. Now, she is excited to be in the Brangwynne Lab to explore the quantification and characterization of protein pathological phase transitions and aggregation in these diseases. In her free time, Hailey enjoys playing soccer, drawing/painting, and being with her family.
